Our parenting support is based around several evidenced based theories and practices to best meet the needs of the many diverse family dynamics we work along side.
At Play Educate we understand that parenting is a continuous learning curve and a journey that at times can be tough to navigate. We respect that the parent or carer knows their child more than anyone else and encourage parents to advocate for the needs and wants of their child. We aim to support parents in building strong attachments, a deep relational connection and a balance of needs in the family dynamic, decreasing stress and increasing positive experiences for the whole family.
During individual counselling sessions, we work together with parents and caregivers to provide an opportunity to reflect on how your journey is going, and what can be done to make that journey a bit easier. Using evidence-based techniques grounded in neurobiology and attachment, we provide support across a range of areas, such as;
- Understanding you child’s behavior and their development
- Ways to strengthen your family unit
- Adapting to change and learning how to effectively manage stress
- Exploring new parenting strategies
- Ways to maintain optimal self-care
